OVERVIEW

The event industry has been hit harder than most by the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Live Events have not featured in 2020, event professionals have lost their jobs in huge numbers but the demand for the content and relationships generated by the event industry has remained.

The industry has “pivoted” and delivered their events using virtual platforms. Yet the platforms they have used to deliver their events have not been built specifically to deliver virtual events but have been provided by existing event technology suppliers who have simply added a streaming service.

KEY TALKING POINTS

Large Companies, bloated teams, structured processes, heavy middle management.

Technology has been selected based on existing relationships and suppliers have pivoted to include virtual event platforms.

Various types of companies organising live events: Exhibition Organisers, Conference Organisers, Associations, Event Agencies, Corporates

Organisers will need to use intuitive technology that has been built to meet the needs of the new world order.

THE EVENT INDUSTRY HAS SHIFTED IT’S AXIS

The Event Industry is resilient and has pivoted its offer online and delivered Virtual Events to fill the void. Yet these online events have not been executed to a high standard, organisers have felt exposed and the large majority of organisers have not found running virtual events to be that lucrative.
